![]() Phil and Sharon Stead – Owners Sharon – born 4th generation Zimbabwean, was raised in the wilds on her parents Game Farm north of Bulawayo. Her family created Camp Amalinda 21 years ago and since designed various other safari lodges in Zambia. The building and design of Camp Amalinda happens to be the greatest piece of architectural prowess one will ever see or imagine. Lead by her desire to empower women and her love of her country she founded The Mother Africa Trust in 2006. Mother, businesswoman and community leader, Sharon’s passion and vision of promoting her country first is seen as the key to renewal in Zimbabwes’ tourism industry and has recently earned her the description by Hotel & Catering Magazine as a “sassy businesswoman” and “Hospitality Power-house” . Sharon is currently working on a book as her children’s reference about her life’s experiences in Africa.
Phil – born in Tanzania from a family of Hoteliers. After being educated in Guernsey, his “Hotel and Catering” degree was taken in Scotland before returning to Africa to continue in this trade. Phil’s vast knowledge of hospitality, tourism and fine cuisine comes from his many years experience with major Hotel chains in Southern Africa. His eye for detail and service of the hospitality trade sets these properties apart from the rest and ensured the Collections growth during Zimbabwe’s past 10 dire tourism years
Together with their two children, Sharon and Phil live in Bulawayo expanding on what has now become The Amalinda Collection. Amalinda remains the flagship of this Collection.
Also under The Amalinda Collection: Ivory Lodge - Place of Elephants in Hwange National Park and The Bulawayo Club - City of Kings, a boutique hotel in the heart of Bulawayo.

![]() Priscilla and Billy Dally – Camp Managers Bill – has been working in hospitality since leaving school. Learning his culinary and hotelier expertise from Le Francais and Leonardo’s Continental Restaurant before spending 2 years with Wild Geese Lodge as General Manager. His vast knowledge of fine wine, dining and service comes with a naturally relaxed charm that is so matched to the serenity of Amalinda.
Priscilla – brings with her a wealth of experience in Banqueting from Wild Geese Lodge. Creating those special wedding moments every weekend for 2 years comes from being ultra organised and efficient. We welcome her trained eye and co-ordinating skills for those exceptional events we host at Amalinda.
Eklina Moyo – Assistant Manager / Masseuse
Eklina has incredibly soothing, healing hands. You will meet Eklina in front office, but it’s in the Safari Spa that you will really get to know her professional side. Eklina has been with Amalinda since 1999, and has developed her skills through a keenness to learn from continual in-house training. Her warm, calming nature is rarely seen now days…
